BB!Acorn Fur -> Acorn Swoop
[ID: The Better Bones version of Acorn Fur, now called Acorn Swoop. She is a sleek, chestnut-brown cat with smooth, round accents, scotty-dog whiskers, and amber eyes. She's running and giving the camera a salute.]
One of Thunder Storm's greatest allies, a loyal childhood friend with a penchant for always showing up in the nick of time!
When Clear Sky rejected his son Thunder Storm, infuriated by his missing hind leg and the gall of the ancestors to try and challenge him, Tall Shadow broke off her supporters in protest to this continued cruelty. Hawk Swoop and Jackdaw Cry were with them, giving birth to their children in Shadow's Clan.
Acorn Swoop, Lightning Cry, and Thunder Storm grew up together. A little trio of terrors, always getting underfoot. Even though Thunder Storm's path eventually drove him to investigate SkyClan to learn from Clear Sky, he always knew they would welcome him back when he came home.
Acorn Swoop was there, watching in horror, when Turtle Heart died in the attempt to retrieve her kittens from Tom. It only became worse, when she returned home with the children, to find that Tall Shadow had decided Bumble was no longer welcome without her mate to hunt for her.
But even Bright Storm, closest friend of the deceased Gray Wing the Wise, was accepting the ruling. She felt her rage drain away, replaced by self doubt. Was this right? It was true that Bumble couldn't hunt or care for herself...
Thunder Storm returned shortly after, having seen the truth about Clear Sky, shocked into fury. When Bright Storm tried to explain everything to him, she was cut off. "I didn't think I'd come home to find another Clear Sky!"
Acorn Swoop couldn't believe she'd ever believed such a thing! That moment was the birth of ThunderClan, breaking away from ShadowClan to charge into the woods, their mission; find Bumble. Some say it was a stroke of great luck that they found her just as Clear Sky did, intercepting his thrashing. Acorn would gleefully counter with, "A swoop always arrives in the nick of time!"
After her death, she is hailed as a Patron of Prra, an untranslatable Clanmew concept roughly meaning "promptness" or "good timing." She's invoked for hunting, humor, and for things to begin and end when they should.
Alignment: Proto-ThunderClan
Family: Swoop & Cry
Time Period: Dawn Era
Relations: Hawk Swoop & Jackdaw Cry (parents), Lightning Cry (brother), Red Claw (mate), Shell Claw & Sleek Swoop (children) Lightning Storm & Feather Cry (nespring)
More changes below the cut!
BB!DOTC has a brand new naming system! Ancient Tribe cats have a last name system, arbitrarily inherited from the mother or father.
So Swoop and Cry both have their parent's last names! Hopefully this will help everyone not forget they're siblings. I did consider calling her Acorn Cry, but I think the Swoop Family is a really cute one.
Unlike canon, Bright Storm is one cat, and she is a major part of the story. Thunder Storm considers Shaded Flower his adopted father.
Gray Wing the Wise was the first cat to die during the Sun Trail.
Acorn and Lightning are not Thunder's adopted siblings in any way.
Thunder and Lightning become mates by the end of DOTC, making Acorn his sis-in-law.
In-canon she's described as being short and stocky and kinda cutesy. That doesn't quite fit what I mean to do with her, so Acorn Swoop is gangly and leggy.
In a more anthro universe I feel like she would be a great mailman, somehow
Because Moth Flight's Vision is now Moth Flight's Vow, and a completely different story with a new reasoning behind the Cleric's Vow, Acorn Swoop does not have the canon conflict with StarClan trying to shame her choosing medicine or marriage.
And, because I refuse to magically conjure up characters to be convenient mates for the main characters, Thunder's canon litter has been split in 2.
Shell Claw and Sleek Swoop (prev. Sleek Fur) belong to Acorn Swoop and Red Claw. Lightning Storm and Feather Cry are born to Lightning Cry and Thunderstar.
But, I'm not sure yet if this is before or after Thunderstar's Justice. I do know, however, that Lightning Cry doesn't live to see his children.
Acorn Swoop is very close to them all as a result, plus her children being the same age as her nespring. She's always been there for Thunderstar in the past, and that's not about to stop any time soon.
You may eventually notice some similarities between her and Sharpclaw when we get there. That's intentional! She is one of his distant ancestors!
By extension, she is the ancestor of Hawkwing, Violetshine, Twigbranch, Rootspring, and Needleclaw.
She also has some descendants in most Clans just by virtue of exponential ancestry, but it's uncanny for the Sharpkin.
In terms of personality, she's cheerful and daring. Acorn takes pride in herself and her family, but can still doubt herself at times. She's a fantastic hunter, and catches well above her share of food to provide for the Clan. Thunderstar is beyond grateful to have her on his side.
In the Modern Era, many of the cats of BB!DOTC have long since been venerated. By now, Acorn Swoop has become an ancient and powerful Patron of Promptness. We might consider her a sort of god of 'chance,' but to Clan cats, "Prra" is a virtue that's hard to translate.
It's perfect timing. It's prey who only looks up when it's already too late. It's a friend of another Clan whose patrol happens to sync up to yours. It's primroses that poke through the melting frost just as you believe winter will never end.
She's invoked when you're stuck anticipating, or when you have to time something just right. It's perfect moments and comedic timing, things that can't just be replicated on a whim.

bonefall rewrite piece where owlstar and sparrowstar meet at a negotiation of some sort.
Not so fast, REVERSE CARD OPEN!
I target BB!Owlstar on my side of the field to special summon canon!Owlstar in attack position and canon!Pebble Heart in defense position.
Anyway! My bad attempt at a joke aside I'm gonna have to hijack this prompt for my own ends because I've always thought that the Pebble-Sparrow-Owl trio could have a really cool dynamic as a trio in the aftermath of DotC. I need Pebble Heart to be a separate character from Owlstar because both from his position as a meddie and his characterization in canon I have him serve as a mediating influence, as an anchor that keeps his siblings from drifting too far off from each other. Plus I think trios just generally give a more stable ground for character dynamics than mere dyads.
This one I based on a fic I that's been rummaging in my mind for ages about Sparrow facing a coup from Skystar's kin following his death and having to convince her brothers to lend their aid in her campaign of guerrilla warfare to reclaim her position.
(Want to submit a prompt of your own? Check out my guidelines and send it in! I'm only slightly likely to hijack it with a lame Yu-Gi-Oh! joke.)
With labored breaths, Sparrow Fur sat against the rough bark of a tree with a trickle of blood going over her left eye.
Everything since the ambush had been a blurr. Skystar hadn’t even been cold in the ground for more than before one of his brats got cocky and decided to organize an insurrection. There’d been no shortage of cats to stand behind him, the downside of Skystar’s system of advancement by merit was that there would always be a gaggle of malcontent cats eager to stand behind the first cat to promise them a place by his right paw.
Though she had barely the energy to move she attempted anyway to rise to her feet before she was gently guided back down onto her back.
“Easy there,” Pebble Heart instructed, pressing a wad fo wet most as he wiped the spot on her head from where the blood was oozing. “I haven’t even finished cleaning your wounds, Sparrow. Are you like this with Acorn Fur as well?”
She didn’t reply, instead just letting the twitching of her tail to give the message. It had been humilliating enough to be forced to flee her own territory, to hide among the dampness of ShadowClan and forced to rely on kin she thought she’d have no debt to anymore. Yet here she was, SkyClan’s deputy reduced to such a sorry state.
“I know, I know,” the dark-gray tom soothed., adding with a sigh, “It’s so hopeless with you, SkyClan cats.” Briefly he turned around to retrieve a herb from the stash he’d managed to bring alongside him from his nest. “Will you calm down if I tell you that I have someone who can help you out with your predicament?”
“Pryyp?” Sparrow Fur mrowwed. It’d been the first word the ShadowClan medic had heard her say in hours.
“Pebble Heart?” a familiar voice asked approaching the makeshift clinic fashioned from the cover of a fallen tree.
For a moment Sparrow Fur vocalized a sound like a growl. The recently-arrived tom widened his already large eyes in surprise, standing there for a moment before rushing to the side of his brother and sister. It was Owlstar of ThunderClan.
“Do you know who did this to her?” Owlstar asked. “How did this happen? When?”
“I found her a couple sunrises ago,” Pebble Heart explained. “I don’t have all the details and she hasn’t been well enough to tell me herself but I’ve got an idea of what it was, and she’ll need your help.”
“No!” Sparrow Fur immediately snapped, causing her brothers to tumble back as she labored to go back on her feet. She found it hard for the words to come to her mouth but she could say that much. “No! No! No! NO! Not ThunderClan!”
“This is no time to be proud, Sparrow,” Pebble Heart insisted. “If you want to reclaim leadership from Tiger Tail--”
“Wait,” Owlstar piped up, his sight brightening. “Skystar’s dead? And it was one of his sons and not Sparrow who took the leadership? This is excellent! From now on we could--”
Owlstar was stopped in his enthusiasm by a growl from his sister and a scolding from his brother. “This is no time to be thinking of a battle! Sparrow’s hurt and her would-be murderers are chasing her and this is what you think about?”
“Well, I have to think of ThunderClan!” Owl Eyes defended himself. “And SkyClan’s been nothing but a threat. Why shouldn’t I think about our rivalry now?”
At least there was something she could agree with her brother on...

Bit of a random one but rereading the parable of the squirrels got me curious: how would clan cats (or just thunderclan in particular) view black/melanistic squirrels? Have any of them ever seen one? Im not sure how common they are in the uk, but i know they can be relatively prevalent in areas that have them sometimes
Black squirrels are nothing more than a simple morph! They get common in areas that have melanistic genes present as a result of simple genetic drift, though I've seen it proposed that black fur is an advantage in cold areas.
The gene is rare in the populations the Warriors come across, so they almost never see it. In spite of ShadowClan's unwillingness to control the gray squirrel population, ThunderClan is so aggressive about it that the pool stays shallow. Red Squirrels (pishkaf) do not have this gene. Only Gray Squirrels (chakchak) do.
So every time a black squirrel manages to occur, it's treated like a dire omen. Even ShadowClan takes it seriously.
Black as a color is associated with day and night cycles, because of Moon Shadow, Sun Shadow, and Shadowstar. Gray Squirrels are associated with war and benefit at the suffering of others. These things together herald great upheaval-- so cataclysmic that it would likely not be an "honorable conflict."
If you came to your Cleric with this omen, they would be struck with a look of terrible alarm. They'd be interested in its context, what it was doing, if it was eating anything, what its surroundings looked like. Someone like BB!Runningnose, interested in supporting Brokenstar's ambitions, might spin it as a positive sign.
Most Clerics would announce that the squirrel needs to be killed IMMEDIATELY, and launch a massive hunt to destroy it. What would come next would likely depend on the culture of the time, but for the most part I can imagine some sort of mass "purification" ritual. The whole Clan trying to identify how they can avoid the cataclysm, one of the few times where they see a glorious war as a bad thing.
The cat who kills the squirrel would likely earn an Honor Title. It's also very likely that the body of the animal is treated as a very powerful material-- burned to ash to prevent its use in forbidden magic or carefully preserved and made into something special, no in-between.
(Thinking about it... thanks for the idea I'll totally do this for Brokenstar's Cataclysm lmao. The sinew of the black squirrel is probably used to re-string Runny's acorn necklace.)
#Note that this is why Clanmew doesn't use a generic term for squirrel#Reds and Grays have maaaaassively different cultural meanings!#You can make Pishchak or Chakaf on the spot but it would hit weird to a Clan cat.#Closest English example; it's like calling a fox a 'reynard' or a wolf a 'lupine beast'#Clan culture#Pishkaf om chakchak#Squirrels#Gray squirrel#Red squirrel#Better Bones Au

Do you have a family tree for DOTC and the ancient tribes around the lake with Hollyleaf/Fallenleaf?
I don't yet. When I finish up my re-read, I'm going to gather ALL of the DOTC cats and start dividing them up into the three cultural groups. After getting them all in bundles, I'm going to whip them up into proper family trees.
If you're asking about canon's family tree... I can make it if you'd like, but I'd just be showing you the ticking timebomb of genetic diversity they set up for themselves. It's all Quiet Rainkin and random forest cats, most introduced after book 3. None of the other settlers had grandchildren and the living children have no mates.
Sun Shadow died.
Lightning Tail died and Acorn Fur was forced into a vow of chastity
None of Turtle Tail's kits have kits; one is in a vow of chastity
There's nothing to "preserve" about the canon tree, unfortunately. It's not really a "tree," it's more like a couple of bubbles with a ton of dead women floating around outside.
For funsies, let me try and remember all the "bubbles" off the top of my head, plus when the characters were introduced
Ravenstar x Juniper Branch (Book 6)
Milkweed x Leaf (Book 5, Book 2, plus existing kits with an unknown mate)
Misty (Book 2; kits have no kits.)
Shadowkin: Tall, Moon, Sun (1, 1, 5, extinct)
Jackdaw's Cry x Hawk Swoop (extinct)
Turtle Tail x Tom the Wifebeater (endangered)
Riverstar x Finch Song (Book 1, super edition)
Wind Runner x Gorse Fur (Moth Flight and Dust Muzzle are born in book 3)
Willow Tail (introduced with a sibling in book 4; extinct)
Shaded Moss was the father of Rainswept Flower (extinct)
Fox and Petal were siblings (Petal raised Misty's children)
I forgot the name of Drizzle's mom and sibling (book 6)
I think there's also a cat called Apple Bottom Jeans or something in Thunderstar's Echo who has a litter, but I can't remember her mate without google. There were also some litters born in Riverstar's Home I can't remember. I barely remember the side books, were there any others born in Shadowstar's Life...?
Here's all the pairings in the Quiet Rainkin family, as contrast;
Quiet Rain x Unknown (4 kits)
Clear Sky x Bright Stream (Died pregnant; gave birth to 2 dead angel fetus children in heaven)
Clear Sky x Storm (Thunder was the only survivor of 3)
Clear Sky x Star Flower (two litters; the first was 3 iirc, the second unknown)
Jagged Peak x Holly (3 kits)
Gray Wing x Slate (3 kits iirc)
Thunder x Violet Dawn (4 kits)
So... bottom line is, something like 50% of births were coming out of the Quiet Rainkin family, and they account for something like 30% of cats with existing family at all.
Personally, I think that's awful in a prequel arc that's supposed to be about ancestors. So I'm going to be making whole families for BB.
#bone babble#Re: this is all from memory#Did I miss any?#Also this is a large reason i think theyre just bad at handling family trees.#It was a completely clean slate and they are still barelling towards a pretzel in a couple generations#Unless they continue to summon fresh bodies from the bushes#MY excuse is that I don't work with OCs and have to handle the small population sizes.#I work with limits theyve set and even I can still think more carefully about family trees#They do not care at all about them or consider them outside of superficial references#And I dislike that. The whole draw of the series imo is following them through their lives and subsequent generations#But hey. My kitchen my spices.#If BB ever had its serial numbers sanded off I'd keep the BB!DOTC families into the modern era too lmaoo#But that's neither here nor there

BB!Bumble
If Bumble has millions of fans I am one of them. If Bumble has ten fans I am one of them. If Bumble has only one fan that's me. If Bumble has no fans, that means I'm dead. If the world is against the Bumble, I am against the world.
[ID: Bumble from WC on a purple, pink, and blue background. She is a fat tortoiseshell cat with a white chest and paws and bright orange dapples. She has two pawprint-shaped marks on her face and a torn ear.]
Need an animation-friendly version? Go here!
I won't get into a rant here, but go ahead and review the scene where Bumble gets exiled if you wanna get mad. Fair warning that I do not like Canon DOTC and I'm not 'nice' towards it.
BB!Bumble is the mate of Turtle Heart, and eventually ThunderClan's greatest asset. She cracks open diplomacy for the underdog Clan, allowing them to speak with cats for whom there would otherwise be a serious language barrier.
Her personality is self-confident, outgoing, and compassionate. She loves funny idioms and turns-of-phrase, and is always down to hear a good story. Of course, she also LOVES a good meal, and sees the incalculable value in a long nap before a hard decision.
After her death, Bumble becomes the ancient patron of Speech and Communication. When love makes you tongue-tied, when you hear the perfect phrase and it echoes in your head for hours after, when you need to find the right words to express a complicated idea, that is a moment to invoke Bumble.
(Full outline below!)
When Turtle Heart fled Tom and his violence, Bumble came a few weeks later and was accepted into the Clan as long as Turtle was there to vouch for her. Her membership was always tenuous though, completely dependent on her mate hunting for her.
Disaster struck when Tom stole their children, and Turtle Heart died trying to retrieve them. With Bright Storm as their godmother, Tall Shadow saw no reason to keep the "useless outsider" Bumble as part of the Clan. Bright Storm, blinded by love she still had for Clear Sky, did not fight for her and concluded it was a hard choice but the right one.
Around this time, Thunder Storm had come to reject Clear Sky and his brutal Clan. After Sunlit Frost was exiled for being unable to hunt with an infected wound, they decided to return to Shadow's Clan together. Upon finding Bumble exiled, Thunder Storm roared at the cruelty and injustice of what he found.
When Bright Storm tried to calm him, Thunder snapped, "I didn't think I would come home to find a second Clear Sky!"
Rallying his small group of supporters, Lightning Cry, Acorn Swoop, and Sunlit Frost, he charged off to go find her. They found Bumble just in time to see Clear Sky "warning" her by ripping her ear off, and Thunder Storm launched himself at his father. The brawl became ferocious, a SkyClan patrol barreling in to defend their leader.
Just as it seemed like Thunder Storm was pinned and bested, from the undergrowth it's BRIGHT STORM WITH THE STEEL CHAIR
And several reinforcements! The words stuck with her and made her realize what she'd been doing, and understand that now was the time to fight against what she was becoming. The fighting reached a crescendo. Thunder's followers were still outnumbered but holding a stalemate, and then, at that moment, a tree creaked and groaned.
The cats disentangled at just the right moment to leap away from a falling ash tree, splitting the groups in two. Thunder Storm leapt up on top of the trunk, a wayward sunbeam making his fur shine tiger-orange. Bloodied and seeing a sign from their ancestors, Clear Sky's defeated warriors ran home.
Clear Sky himself lingered for a moment longer, meeting the blaze in his son's amber eyes, catching Bright Storm's scorn, and then turning away without a single word.
This is the start of ThunderClan.
Bumble quickly becomes one of its most important members. She is able to speak to the River Kingdom to the west and the Wind Coalition to the north, earning them allies when they might not have had any. ThunderClan's early fate is to roam around the Forest as needed, trying to avoid too many skirmishes and remaining close to whoever their current ally is.
But before then, ThunderClan's first order of action is to retrieve Bumble's kits from ShadowClan.
But that's a story for another time.

Honestly, I'm falling in love with your characterization of Frostfur. Big battle scarred woman who loves her son-in-law and babies, outspoken advocate for Firestar, secret bastard of a medicine cat. She's so interesting and babygirl and I hope she gets a lil page about her like you have with Heartstar and Acorn Swoop~!
I'll end up giving her a summary later on, but I've been doing some sketches to get a better 'feeling' for her. Especially since her kittens are going to all become big players going forward, I want to make sure you can see a bit of her in the four of them;
[ID: Several iterations on BB!Frostfur. The one in the center is the oldest, with long belly fur and a long snout, labelled "Too long, too much muzzle, and too angy." In the top left corner, she is painting makeup onto Cloudtail, saying "I think red brings out the color of our eyes." Below that she is looking over her shoulder at you. Next is a headshot where her ear is cut off, and she starts to display the 'lip scar.' Then there's a guide to her various scars. Above that she is making bloodcones out of snow.]
SO enjoy this little babble on various free-form thoughts I'm having about her character;
I have enough snarky, assertive types in ThunderClan. I need someone who's more sweet and gentle to balance things out.
I ALSO noticed that Whitestorm and Cloudtail are large, fluffy, pure white cats. So I decided Frostfur works better as being short-furred.
The first sketch was based on her secret biofather Featherwhisker. I decided I don't want it to be so obvious, so the similarities became more subtle as time went on.
For example the shape of her head, and just a few droopy tufts.
There should be one scar that defines her above all others, so I decided that there's a slice from nose to chest, which nicked her lip open.
Her tooth is always poking out a little bit
Always looks 'friendly,' so I tried to channel a kitty cat who wants to play. Little muzzle, whiskers usually visible, big eyes
But don't let that fool you, she's a fantastic warrior, covered in scars to prove her mettle.
She's gone up against foxes, badgers, rogues, and has defended Sunningrocks many times. Bluestar trained her well, and no one can deny this.
I'm not sure when she's going to die, but in any case, she's not being "left behind" in TNP because she's too old and weak to travel. What the fuck was that, like sincerely
"Bye mom thanks for not slowing us down have fun starving to death" ??????
She either ends up in the Elder's Den for a while with Goldenflower, or dying in the WindClan Civil War
as a side note, she is not becoming deputy. I'm satisfied with the entire Firestar deputy plotline from Whitestorm to Longtail to Graystripe to Brambleclaw to Brackenfur. That's no longer open to shuffles, I cannot fit more into that drama.
However, she is totally eligible for a different high-ranking position! Cooking and Construction are still open. Cooking is kind of barren right now, actually, and it may be cute for her to train her daughter-in-law Sorreltail.
She also has at least two apprentices now. The first is either Runningwind or Mousefur (since Blue doesn't need an apprentice while she's leader and Redtail won't be mentoring his future mate's sister), and the second is Elderberry to ease her out of the nursery.
If neither Mouse and Run end up being her apprentices, then Tulipflight or Chestnutface might be. But she will be having 2 apprentices.

what’s Gray Wing and Sparrow Fur’s relationship going to be like?
Ohhhh Sparrow Hearrtttt
Honestly Sparrow Heart has become so different that sometimes she pulls at the "stick close to canon" leash. She's a baby in the Free Reign Arc of DOTC and can't do much, but by the time of TBC she is an ancient spirit who is SO tired of being nice
But anyway. BB!DOTC.
She had three parents, Turtle Heart, Bumble, and Gray Wing. Gray just has this amazing way with kids, they take everything seriously and break everything down into terms they can understand. Some of Sparrow's and Owl's earliest memories are of Gray Wing bundling them up in their tail and showing them the stars, explaining the constellations, pointing out the ones the Sun Trail Cats used to navigate by night.
They taught her how to trust, to look for the good in things. She was an adventurous kit, and Tom took advantage of that. He lead them right away from their home, and when Sparrow tried to stop because she was tired, Tom taught her the first lesson about cruelty.
Dragged to a strange house by a man she doesn't know, a painful bruise forming, she was terrified. Gray Wing, Lightning Cry, and Acorn Swoop arrived to rescue her, only for her to learn that Turtle Heart died because she left with Tom. Bumble tried to comfort her kids in that moment, but more than ever, they were clinging to Gray Wing. Xey were their savior, in that emotional moment.
Bumble was hurt, they were ALL hurting, but she understood. A kid's grief shouldn't be a performance, it should be about them. What THEY need to heal. Right?
But the next thing that Sparrow Heart learned was that support is conditional. She loved Bumble, that was her OTHER mom, and Tall Shadow called for her exile. Gray Wing agreed. It didn't matter that she screamed and cried for her, tried to bargain she'd hunt for her (when she was still too young to have caught anything in her whole life), they sent her away.
Powerful people can take anything they want from you. They can make you do anything they want you to do.
And you are a commodity that can be bargained for. Gray Wing had to leave the kits behind when they charged off with reinforcements, and Tall Shadow used Sparrow Heart and Pebble Heart as leverage.
Tall Shadow: "You disavowed us, but these kits are still our clanmates. How am I supposed to trust that your group will be able to care for them?"
Gray Wing: "a kit belongs with its parents, Tall Shadow. You are honorable, you would not keep them from us."
"I don't need flattery, I need proof. Proof that you are capable of providing for them."
Thunder Storm: "what, payment? You want to make servants of us?"
As Sparrow Heart grew, the more she became aware of these things. But you know who doesn't get traded like a dead mouse? The one around whom the world revolves?
Skystar.
Sparrow Heart loved her family, all three parents, her brothers, and her friends. But she grew tired of being scared, losing people, being powerless and begging for an audience. She eventually became Skystar's deputy, turning her hungry eyes towards leadership...
And that is where her tale ends, for now. I know where I'd go from here, but I want to know what canon does first. I'm looking at that upcoming super edition with judgemental anticipation.
But for Sparrow Heart, Gray Wing will always be many complicated things. A father. A childhood hero. A traitor. A savior, again, who reunited her and Pebble with Bumble. She will always love them; but they taught her that even the people you love the most can make choices that hurt you.

Idk if you’ve talked about her already, but I’d love to hear about BB!Acorn Fur!
And what your thoughts of canon her are too >:D
A summary for the BB changes is coming up in a moment!
In-canon though... I really hate what they did to her. Right after the First Battle, after being forced to dump her parents in a mass grave thanks to Clear Sky, she decides she can't go back to the Moor and joins SkyClan. It's like they completely forgot the past 3 books, and Blazing Star is a brand new continuity
The narrative totally forgets that Clear Sky was 100% responsible for the entire battle, deciding that actually Tall Shadow did this too somehow, because they didn't appease the violent dictator enough. Gray Wing declares, "WE let it get too far" like a Reverse Squirrelflight's Hope, and Acorn Fur decides that actually she wants to move into the camp of the dude who starved her father
But like, at least that IS something, because for being the "adopted sibling" of main character Thunder she sure gets very little screentime.
DOTC hates women too much for me to be charitable about the fact they had two kittens in the Jackdaw's Cry/Hawk Swoop litter, and only gave the boy child important moments with Thunder. Once you start seeing all the misogyny in this arc, it becomes VERY hard to ignore every little detail
But I think what most people really remember about poor Acorn Fur is how vitriolic Moth Flight is allowed to be to her, for the high crime of... being close to Micah
MFV is a painful book. We get to watch Clear Sky be just as bad as he always was, "redemption arc" forgotten, crying and wailing about being told what to do (take this doctor) because he hates foreigners. He mistreats Micah constantly, forcing him to train Acorn Fur so that he can replace him as soon as possible, and Moth Flight blames Acorn Fur for this because she's a woman in the general vicinity
On Clear Sky's orders, Red Claw attacks Micah in a tree while he's collecting sap as medicine, because Clear wants everyone in WindClan to die of illness. Micah dies. From now on, Moth Flight decides that Acorn Fur can't be happy because she hates the person she wants to be her mate, and also Acorn Fur.
The StarClan Dogpile where they chide Acorn like a child is an insulting mess that's meant to be framed as a triumphant moment. "Oh isn't it so nice that finally Moth Flight is getting listened to! You're a moron, Acorn Fur, for thinking you can be a doctor AND a mother!! Everyone point and laugh! Pick, bitch, marriage or medicine!"
It sucks. Everything that happens to Acorn Fur is unfair and ridiculous. The writers barely cared about her from the beginning, only to shovel her into SkyClan where she suffers for it constantly, because Skystar and Moth Flight are both horrible people.
She deserves better than what she got

The BF!DOTC cast and the canon DOTC cast get locked in a room with each other. What happens?
I think BB!Skystar would think his counterpart is a sniveling coward tbh. That dude comes from a universe where old gods are real, hostile, and bled him to death 8 times, he defied the gods and redefined Clan culture, became strong enough even in death to answer prayers and grant strength to his disciples... and C!Clear is here like "i jjj ust waantne dto mamke dure no on e starve,s,,,"
C!Clear: "I paid for my sins many times over (got tut-tutted by his mom once) and it's time for you all to stop treating me unfairly >:("
BB!Skystar: "squirrels chatter atop the branch but they never come down to fight for their honor"
Thunder Storm would probably feel sympathy for Thunder, but ultimately feel like he's talking to a child. All this talk of "My father!!" and "killing in self-defense is still wrong" would test his patience. I think he'd try to be polite, but end up losing his temper and shouting at him the more they spoke.
Acorn Swoop is listening to Acorn Fur's story with abject horror and teaching her what a union is. BB!Moth Flight just bit C!Moth Flight
BB!Bumble is crying like a sad cat learning that C!Bumble was turned away by Turtle Tail. Turtle Heart accepted her into the group immediately, missing her lover, hunting for the both of them. Her death was when Tall Shadow cast her out of the group. BB!Bumble can't imagine being so alone, having no one care about her death.
BB!Gray Wing is having a very long talk with C!Gray Wing about enabling, and gives up after like 30 minutes of an exchange as infuriating as, "a pound of stone is heavier than a pound of feathers"
Slowly the rooms would kinda end up with the BB!Cast bundled into their own Clan corners. Though I think if it came down to it, the general "power level" of BB is higher than Canon so I think they would end up winning in a fight. Let's just HOPE that BB!One Eye isn't here because that would POSE A PROBLEM
But if he was, he'd think Canon One Eye is a chad.
